With the 2025/26 domestic seasons entering their final stretch, two of British pundit Piers Morgan’s most prominent footballing loyalties are converging toward potential glory. Morgan, a well-documented supporter of both Arsenal and Cristiano Ronaldo, has voiced his backing for the pair to end lengthy waits for league honours.
Arsenal currently sit three points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, with four matches remaining. The Gunners have not won a top-flight league title since 2004 — a drought now stretching 22 years. Al Nassr, meanwhile, lead the Saudi Pro League by eight points over rivals Al Hilal, also with four games to play. The Riyadh club last won the Saudi league title five years ago.
Morgan’s comments came in response to a post shared on X featuring an interview with Ronaldo, in which the Portuguese forward was asked about his title expectations with four matches left in the Saudi Pro League season. Ronaldo responded directly: “The fight will continue until the very end. Things have been difficult in the league, both on and off the pitch, but I will talk about that at the end of the season. What matters most is that the team played well and fought. We deserved to win, we scored two goals and wanted more, we are on the right track.”
Quoting the post on X, Morgan wrote: “My *real* quadruple is still on: Arsenal wins the Premier League & Champions League… @Cristiano wins the Saudi League… Spurs get relegated.”
Morgan’s reference to a “quadruple” incorporates Arsenal’s ongoing Champions League campaign alongside their Premier League push. The north London club drew 1-1 with Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final, leaving the tie finely poised ahead of the second leg. A place in the final would represent Arsenal’s deepest run in European football’s premier club competition in nearly two decades.
The prospect of Tottenham Hotspur’s relegation, also referenced in Morgan’s post, reflects the precarious position of Arsenal’s north London rivals in the current Premier League standings, adding another layer to what has been a highly polarised season across the capital.
For Ronaldo, securing the Saudi Pro League title with Al Nassr would mark his first league championship since winning Serie A with Juventus in 2020. The 41-year-old joined Al Nassr in January 2023 and has been the focal point of the club’s domestic ambitions since. Al Nassr’s eight-point cushion over Al Hilal, with four games remaining, places them in a strong position to end that wait, though the Saudi Pro League has historically produced late-season fluctuations.
Arsenal’s title challenge, if successful, would end the longest current top-flight league drought among Premier League clubs that were present during the Premier League era’s early years. Manager Mikel Arteta, who has overseen a significant rebuild at the Emirates Stadium, has guided the club to back-to-back second-place finishes in recent seasons before this campaign’s current trajectory.
Both title races are expected to reach their conclusions within the next two to three weeks, with the Champions League final scheduled to follow shortly after. Should both Arsenal and Al Nassr hold their respective leads, Morgan’s self-described “quadruple” could yet materialise — though four matches remain for circumstances to shift in either competition.
