Goals from Antoine Griezmann and Dayot Upamecano helped France race to two-nil lead after just eight minutes before Mbappe put the game out of sight in the 21st minute as the two-time world champions went to recess with a healthy scoreline, Eurosport reports.

Inside the locker room, the PSG attacker demonstrated why Didier Deschamps opted to appoint him as the leader of the group ahead of Griezmann.

Despite his young age, Mbappe charged his teammates, demanding for more of the same in the second half.

"Well done, guys, well done, well done, that’s it!" He said as quoted by Sportskeeda.
That’s how you start a game. Don’t let them breathe; give them nothing. Same thing in the second half, the same thing. Don’t let up. That’s how we do it, guys."

Deschamps charges took their feet off the pedal but still managed to add insult to Holland's injury when Mbappe found the back of the net for the second time in the game.

His two-goal haul takes his France tally to 38, surpassing Karim Benzema in the all-time chart for Les Bleus. Mbappe would hope to add more when he leads the 2022 World Cup finalists to their second group game against Ireland on Monday, March 27.

Mbappe starts on a winning note

Kylian Mbappe marked his first game as France captain with two goals and an assist as the World Cup finalists romped to a 4-0 win against a depleted Netherlands side in a Euro 2024 qualifier in Paris, Sports Brief reported.

The Paris Saint-Germain superstar set up the pink-haired Antoine Griezmann to score inside two minutes.

He wrapped up the victory in emphatic fashion with two minutes remaining before the Netherlands' Memphis Depay had a stoppage-time penalty saved by goalkeeper Mike Maignan.
