Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe has appeared to change the tune on who is football's greatest of all time between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The debate on who is the better player between the two football icons remains divided among fans, pundits, and even footballers.

Ronaldo and Messi have dominated the football scene for some time now, with the duo winning an incredible 12 Ballon d'Or awards between them.

Mbappe is one such player who has previously waded into the debate and has been known to be a huge admirer of Ronaldo.

Mbappe's father has previously indicated that his son held the Portuguese ace in high regard, with the forward's former teammate Abdou Diallo confirming the same.

Mbappe changes tune

However, the PSG ace appears to have changed his stance after the FIFA Awards on Monday night.

The Mirror reports the glitzy ceremony held in Paris to celebrate the best players in 2022 saw Messi named the Best Men's Player of the Year.

The Barcelona legend was also named in the FIFPRO Men's World XI, thanks to his electric form which helped Argentina win the World Cup.

While sending his congratulatory message to Messi on Instagram, Mbappe hinted he had changed his GOAT choice.

“Another trophy at home. Big congratulations to @leomessi you are #TheBest," Mbappe posted.

Ronaldo stars in Saudi Arabia

Meanwhile, Ronaldo is focused on his new workstation in Saudi Arabia, where despite a dull start, he has hit the ground running in recent weeks.

Sports Brief reported on the forward notching his second hat-trick in the first half for Al-Nassr against Damac on Saturday, breaking the game's deadlock.

He continued his menacing form in front of goal with a sizzling finish when he was put through on goal by Al Ghannam, before scoring his third.
