There is trouble in paradise at Paris Saint-Germain, as Lionel Messi is reportedly set to part ways with the French giants at the end of the 2022/23 season.

The 35-year-old forward’s current deal with PSG runs out at the end of the season, but so far the Ligue 1 giants have apparently failed to convince him to pen a new deal.

According to Sportskeeda, winning the FIFA World Cup with Argentina in December has made Messi consider his options regarding his future with PSG.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has reportedly received offers from across Europe and will study them soon, before making a decision on his future.

Messi joined the Parisians on a free transfer from Barcelona in 2021 and has made 55 appearances across competitions for the French champions, scoring 24 goals and contributing 29 assists.

Could Messi reunite with Barcelona?

Meanwhile, Barcelona could be reunited with Messi just two years after the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner pitched his tent with PSG, Inside Sport reports.

With Messi rejecting allegedly turning down the French club's contract extension offer, speculations suggest La Blaugrana are now frontrunners to sign the 35-year-old in the summer.

Barcelona president, Joan Laporta has made it no secret of his desire to lure Messi back to Camp Nou after his painful departure in 2021.

Messi takes break from PSG

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on PSG superstar, Messi and his family holidaying at Crans-Montana, a district in the heart of the Swiss Alps.

The veteran chose to spend his day off with his wife and children, after he was afforded a well-deserved period of rest by coach, Christophe Galtier.

In photos shared on Instagram, Messi and his loved ones are seen sporting warm winter clothing to ward of the chill at the ski area.
