One of the most entertaining romances in football has taken a new twist as Galatasaray striker Mauro Icardi’s partner Wanda Nara has once again hinted the two are not together.

The former Inter Milan man has struggled on the pitch in recent months, leaving him surplus to requirements at PSG.

He was eventually shipped off to Galatasaray, where his woes off the pitch once again threaten to derail his career.

It seems Icardi is more focused on his personal life than his career, and the fact that football took a break for the World Cup did little to help matters.

As SportBible reported, Wanda Nara has consistently made it clear she is done with the relationship, but Icardi does not seem to know when to give up.

Wanda Nara has since been spotted getting cozy with Argentine rapper L-Gante, something that irked Icardi incredibly.

Amid a tumultuous relationship, the two reconnected once again in the Maldives, but Wanda has now come out to claim the trip was an “extreme attempt” from Icardi to win her back.

"Obviously, after so many years you have plans and dreams and you want to make them come true. She said as per Nerazzurri Siamo Noi.

"But we had already distanced ourselves, it has nothing to do with getting back together.”

"When peace ends in a relationship, things don't work out for me. It's true, Mauro doesn't want to separate, but the truth is that since October I have decided to distance myself.”

The 35-year-old model got together with Icardi in 2014, bringing an end to her marriage with former Sampdoria striker Maxi Lopez.

Maxi Lopez was great friends with Icardi back in the day, but their relationship broke down after his affair with Wanda.

Adriano and Micaela are understood to have tied the knot earlier in November to formalize their union.
