Paris Saint-Germain livewire Lionel Messi sent a heartwarming message to his bosom friend and ex-Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez following the latter's move to Club Nacional de Football in Uruguay.

Luis Suarez made the sensational return to his boyhood club this summer following the expiration of his deal with Atletico Madrid.

It will be the first time in over a decade that the Uruguayan forward will not be playing in Europe.

Following his presentation at Nacional, who finished as runners-up last season, Suarez received a good luck message from Lionel Messi in a video shared on Twitter, sighted by Sports Brief, on the club's official account.

“Hola Gordo! Well, you’re already there. I wanted to send you a big hug. To wish you all the best in this new phase of yours."
"I know how important it is for you to be there at Nacional, at your home, in your country after so much time. To prepare for the World Cup, because there isn’t much to go.”

Messi added he will throw his weight behind Suarez's new club, Nacional.

“I wish you the best. Now I am going to have to follow Nacional from here as well. We, fans of Newell’s, don’t have good memories with Nacional. You already know I love you and do anything for you. I wish you all the best and hopefully, we will see each other soon.”

Suarez reveals one defender who used to stop Messi at Barcelona

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Luis Suarez has revealed his former Barcelona teammate Ronald Araujo successfully stopped Lionel Messi in training.

Araujo signed for Barcelona in 2018 from River Plates and has cemented his spot in the team as a rock in defence of the Catalan giants.

In last weekend's El Clasico, the 23-year-old proved to be too much for newly-signed Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger with his strength and pace.
