Lionel Messi warmed the hearts of football fans after he stopped security personnel and stadium stewards from keeping a young fan away from him.

The young fan was eager to get to Messi and at least greet him, but the personnel could hear none of it.

The incident happened after Paris Saint-Germain's victory over Nantes in the French Super Cup in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Messi was walking down the tunnel together with his teammates after the celebrations when he noticed the fan. He held his hand and accepted his request for a selfie.

The fan took the selfie and then gave Messi a tight hug before he was quickly ushered away by security. But this time, he had already achieved his mission.

Marco Verratti lobbed an audacious pass into the area, which was turned goal-bound by Pablo Sarabia, but Nantes goalkeeper thwarted his effort with a fingertip save. With the chance to score seemingly gone, Ramos produced a wonderful backheel to get his season going.
