  • Manchester City have rejected the opportunity to sign Neymar after Paris Saint-Germain offered the Brazilian to the Premier League champions
  • PSG wanted Bernardo Silva to be included in the swap deal, but City are said to have closed the door on such a move
  • Chelsea are also interested in Neymar but are yet to make any official bids, with the club keen on strengthening other departments first

New reports have now emerged that Manchester City were offered the chance to sign Neymar. Neymar's situation at Paris Saint-Germain has been uncertain, with reports linking him with a move away.

The Brazilian's huge wages have prevented clubs from outrightly declaring an interest. PSG is said to have approached Manchester City to discuss a possible deal.

Bernardo Silva himself has also been subject to rumours this summer, with reports linking him to a move to Barcelona. It is, however, highly unlikely that Pep Guardiola will allow another attacker to leave following the departures of Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus.

Football London also reports that Chelsea re remotely interested in Neymar though no official bids have been tabled yet. Head coach Thomas Tuchel recently said that the club's priority was getting new defenders before moving to other departments. Chelsea has already signed Sterling and Koulibaly.

Wahington Post sends Manchester City fans into a frenzy with a tweet about Haaland's injury

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Manchester City fans were sent into panic mode, albeit momentarily, when Washington Post tweeted about an apparent serious injury to Haaland. The fans rushed to the official handles of the club to confirm how long their star signing would be out.

But they heaved a sigh of relief when they realised the Haaland in Washington Post's tweet wasn't their Erling Haaland but Debra Haaland, the United States Interior Secretary. The initial tweet by Washington Post did not capture the Interior Secretary's first name in the tweet.

Fans immediately reacted, thinking that it was Erling Haaland who was recently acquired from Borussia Dortmund.
