  • Gianluigi Donnarumma is set to become Paris Saint-Germain's first-choice goalkeeper ahead of Keylor Navas
  • New coach Christophe Galtier however, wants Donnarumma to improve a few aspects of his game as he seeks to challenge for trophies on multiple fronts
  • This is the second time Navas is being forced out after quitting Real Madrid after the club opted to buy Thibaut Courtois

Recently appointed Paris Saint-Germain head coach Christophe Galtier has wasted no time in choosing Gianluigi Donnarumma as his preferred goalkeeper.

Galtier wants to have an outright starter between his two choices of Donnarumma and Keylor Navas. Former manager Mauricio Pochettino interchanged between the pair last season.

Donnarumma joined PSG from AC Milan on a free transfer last summer and expectations were rife that he will displace Navas in goal. Pochettino, however, crafted a system that saw both goalkeepers play almost an equal number of games.

The Marca now reports that Navas is set to drop as a second choice. Galtier and the new director of football Luis Campos want to entrust Donnarumma but will need him to make a few adjustments to his game.

The Italian goalkeeper was in goal when Real Madrid bundles the French giants out of the Champions League. He made a costly error that Karim Benzema capitalized on to spark the comeback for the Los Blancos.

Navas, who urns 36 in a few months, might not be contented with playing second fiddle. He still has two years on his contract and finding a new club for him might be difficult.

Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe clash over Neymar's imminent future

Sports Brief has also reported that new reports have indicated that Paris Saint-Germain's stars Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe have clashed over the imminent future of Neymar.

PSG are said to have put Neymar on its transfer list as the club seeks to balance its books. The Brazilian has fallen out of favour with the club's chiefs.

Messi and Mbappe have been drawn into the saga. The former wishes to have his former teammate at Barcelona continue at Paris while Mbappe has no issue with Neymar leaving.
