Zinedine Zidane Speaks on Return to Management Amid PSG Links

Zinedine Zidane has finally broken his silence on his managerial future amid reports he could be headed to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Frenchman has not been in the dugout for a year now since quitting his role as Real Madrid boss in 2021.

The 49-year-old had two succesful stints at the helm of La Liga giants but twice walked out on them as he took a break from football.

However, he has continually been linked with a return to management, with PSG believed to be his next destination.

Despite coming from Marseille who are domestic rivals of the French capital club, The Mirror reports Zidane is a firm favourite to replace Mauricio Pochettino who was dismissed at PSG this week.

Zinedine Zidane speaks on return to management

The legendary former midfielder has now opened up on what the future holds for him in terms of his managerial career.

In an interview with Telefoot, Zidane conceded that he has a desire to return to football management but was non-committal on his next destination.

"Am I still able to contribute things as a coach? Yes, many things, or I think at least some," he divulged.
"I want to continue with that career because I still have the desire – it is my passion. I am 50 years old, fulfilled, I'm happy, that's the most important thing," he added.

French president backs Zidane for PSG job

Earlier, Sports Brief reported French President Emmanuel Macron desires to see Zinedine Zidane coach Ligue 1 giants, Paris-Saint Germain.

His comments come on the back of speculations of the club's interest in securing the services of the Real Madrid legend despite current boss Mauricio Pochettino's contract running till 2023.

Macron, openly revealed his role in ensuring Kylian Mbappe extended his stay with the Parisians, and dreams of Zidane taking over the reins at the Parc des Princes.
