Lionel Messi wore a special signature football boot during Argentina's pre-World Cup friendly match against the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday.

The Adidas X Messi 2022 World Cup Speedportal boots are inspired by the Adidas F30 boots, worn by the 7-time Ballon d’Or winner in the 2006 World Cup.

The design and concept of the Messi 2022 World Cup Speedportal cleats are very similar to the Adidas Messi 2021 Copa America signature boots.

Messi will be aiming to win the World Cup for the first time in his career when he leads Argentina to the 2022 edition, which is set to kick off in Qatar on November 20.

Messi’s sublime goal against UAE

Meanwhile, Messi marked his World Cup preparation with a goal and an assist for Argentina, in their final warm-up game against United Arab Emirates before this year's tournament in Qatar.

Sports Brief reported that the Paris Saint-Germain superstar set up Julian Alvarez in the 16th minute for La Albiceleste's first goal on Wednesday, at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium stadium in Abu Dhabi.

The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner then netted himself in the 44th minute, dribbling past two players to get onto the scoresheet.

4 records Messi can break

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Messi will make another stab at winning the FIFA World Cup and winning essentially every trophy there is to win.

For a player who has set the pace of football discussion for more than 10 years, it is surprisingly weird that he is yet to win the coveted Mundial.

Once Messi captains the side in their first match against Saudi Arabia on November 22, he will become the youngest player ever to participate in five World Cups, at 35 years old.
