PSG Superstar Receives New Best Goal Scorer Award by IFFHS

Paris Saint Germain forward Lionel Messi has been awarded the International Federation for Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) award for 'The All-Time World's Best One Club Goal Scorer'.

The seven times Ballon d'Or winner broke the goal-scoring record held by legendary Brazilian striker Pele, after scoring 672 goals for Barcelona. Pele netted 643 times for Brazilian giants Santos in an astonishing 659 games.

The IFFHS honoured the Argentine captain a trophy following his new accomplishment.

That was Messi's 644th goal for the Catalan club, between 2004 and 2020 and topping Pele's 643 goal-record which was set almost half a century ago.

Messi may yet add to his Barca goal tally, if he returns to the club in the future.
