  • A well-known characteristic of the Kaizer Chiefs-Orlando Pirates rivalry is the pettiness among the supporters
  • Pirates fans took glee in the Amakhosi's embarrassing 4-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday
  • It did not take long for Amakhosi fans to get their revenge, with one lady taking absolute pleasure in the Buccaneers' heartbreaking loss to Chippa United yesterday.

She who laughs last laughs the best.

A video has emerged on Twitter of a Kaizer Chiefs supporter taking pleasure in Orlando Pirates' misery.

It was shot during the Buccaneers' gutting 1-0 DStv loss to Chippa United at Orlando Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The lone woman in question is seen bravely celebrating Abdi Banda's sucker-punch-headed goal in the 86th minute, surrounded by stunned Pirates fans trying to process the shocking moment.

For the uninitiated, it is a tradition that Chiefs and Pirates supporters go to stadiums to support their rivals' opponents out of principle, which the woman in question subscribed to.

Meanwhile, Pirates coach Jose Riveiro lamented his team's finishing against the Chilli Boys, as the hosts could have defeated the visitors by a landslide of goals.

According to Soccer Laduma, he said:

"Well I'm sad with the result but very proud of our performance, I think we did everything in order to win, we generated the chances, kept the counter-attacks under control.
"One set-piece in the end punished the guys, punished us, it's a game that we've seen many times in the football history, one team dominating, creating chances, not scoring. The other one having one chance, a set-piece in this case and getting the advantage and three points."

Cape Town City stuck in PSL court war, Kaizer Chiefs match tickets hike outrage and relegation battle

Cape Town City's 2022/23 season is playing out like a twist-filled soap opera.

As reported by Sports Brief, the club has had a dreadful start to their DStv Premiership. The Cityzens are rooted firmly at the foot of the table after losing their first three matches of the campaign.

As an impending disaster plays itself out on the pitch, the club is currently at loggerheads with the Premier Soccer League in the boardroom over its sponsorship by FNB, which the league called this ambush marketing because of its own partnership with Nedbank.
