Orlando Pirates could cross continents into Asia to boost the senior squad's defense.
The Buccaneers recently signed Thapelo Xoki and Nkosinathi Sibisi, having let Thulani Hlatshwayo leave for SuperSport United. Also, Olisa Ndah is being scouted by European clubs, while the aging Happy Jele is already preparing for life after playing, meaning the club has to plan long-term in that position.
Soccer Laduma reported that the club is considering signing 28-year-old Iraq international defender Mustafa Nadhim, who plies his trade for Al-Najma in Bahrain.

The Kick Off article detailed that Nadhim is predominantly right-footed and spent most of his playing career in his native Iraq, where he moved around between a number of local clubs before sealing a deal to Bahrain in January this year.
He is also a fully-fledged member of the Iraq national team and has over 30 caps to his name.

Mamelodi Sundowns' are determined to maintain their grip on the local game as well as the quest to win a second CAF Champions League title.
As reported by Sports Brief, the DStv Premiership champions have reportedly signed left-footed Moroccan central defender Abdelmounaim Boutouil from the country's top-division club Chabab Mohammedia. The 24-year-old Boutouil is being identified as a replacement for former player Ricardo Nascimento, who joined Royal AM last season.
Boutouil has made 68 appearances in the Botola Pro Inwi (Moroccan Premier Division), scoring twice since making his senior debut in the 2016/17 season.
