The Ghanaian striker opted to remain with the Buccaneers, despite receiving interest from other sides both in Africa and in Europe.

Kick Off reported that Libya’s Al Ahli Tripoli have been making the most attempts to sign Peprah, but that Pirates have also received interest for the player from clubs in Egypt, Sweden, Belgium, Greece, and Austria.

The publication reported that Peprah is keen to earn a place in Ghana’s World Cup squad and believes that staying with Pirates will give him the best chance to do just that.

The World Cup starts in November, and Ghana have been drawn into the same group as Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea.

Pirates have strengthened their attacking department during the off-season, bringing in both Evidence Makgopa and Bienvenu Eva Nga. Peprah will therefore have to operate at a high level to maintain his place in the team.

Peprah joined Pirates at the beginning of the previous season and has scored 9 goals in all competitions for the club during that time, TransferMarkt confirmed.

The Buccaneers have now put a price tag on Ghana’s Kwame Peprah as numerous clubs are rumoured to be interested in the star.

The 21-year-old joined the Buccaneers from King Faisal FC in the Ghana Premier League last year. The player only cost the Sowetan side R2,3 million.

Kwame Peprah nominated for a top award in South Africa

Sports Brief earlier reported that Ghanaian forward Kwame Peprah has been nominated for the Young Player of the Season in South Africa's top flight.

The 20-year-old has impressed in his maiden season for Orlando Pirates, scoring five goals in 21 games for the Pirates.

Peprah will compete for the award against Athenkosi Mcaba of Stellenbosch FC and SuperSport United star Luke Fleurs.
