Ghana goalkeeper Richard Ofori has disclosed how he wants to be remembered by South African club Orlando Pirates ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup final against RS Berkane.

The Black Stars goalie and his teammates have left South Africa for Nigeria, where the final of the CAF Confederation Cup will be held as they seek continental glory.

Ahead of the game on Friday, Ofori, in an interview with reporters, said history only remembers winners and that is the kind of legacy he wants to leave.

“The CAF journey has been very good but it was not easy. Sometimes we would spend around 15 hours traveling,” Ofori said as quoted by the southafrican.com.
“Things have not been as good in the PSL, but we have shifted our focus to the CAF competition and to make ourselves and the country proud by winning it,” continued Ofori.
“People remember the winners. People know those who make history by winning the trophy. We want to make history for ourselves and to be remembered as the guys who won this trophy for this big club,” he concluded.

Ofori's heroics in the competition can not be discredited after his penalty saving exploits in the quarter-finals against Simba SC.

He was also key to their victory in the semi-finals against Al Ahli Tripoli.

Richard Ofori stars as Orlando Pirates reach CAF Confederation Cup final

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori and his compatriot Kwame Peprah helped Orlando Pirates reach the finals of the 2021-22 CAF Confederations Cup finals on Sunday evening.

Orlando Pirates had to survive a nervy reverse tie at the Orlando Stadium to qualify for the finals on a 2-1 aggregate at the expense of Libyan outfit Al Ahly Tripoli.

And the Ghanaian contingent of the Buccaneers played a pivotal role in attaining the feat.
