A former German international Didi Hamann has suggested that Nigerian international Victor Osimhen is a better striker than Erling Haaland.

Osimhen is becoming a household name in Italy as he is already leading Napoli to the Serie A title for the first time in over three decades.

The Partenopei are also doing well in the UEFA Champions League as they are already in the quarterfinal of the competition, thanks to the 24-year-old.

Despite that Haaland has scored 39 goals in 36 matches in all competitions this season, Haaman stated that Osimhen who has 23 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions so far this campaign is better.

He said, as per Sport Skeeda:

“For me, Osimhen is probably a better all-round player than Haaland right now and links up play better. Haaland is a very direct player and I was cautious whether he really fits into that Man City team.
“He may prove me wrong at the moment if you look at his goal-scoring and stats, but they could still be trophyless at the end of the season.
“I think he’s a player every top club should go for, because, for me, at the moment Osimhen is the best centre-forward in the world.”

Osimhen becoming the new ‘jump king’

Sports Brief earlier reported that Napoli cruised to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, following a 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg of their Round of 16 tie.

Having won the first leg 2-0, the Partenopei claimed a commanding 5-0 aggregate win thanks to Victor Osimhen, who scored three goals in both legs.

Osimhen seems to be the new jump king, scoring at ease with his head. Last season, no player scored more than the Nigerian from aerial balls.
