Napoli Manager Luciano Spalletti Reacts to Victor Osimhen’s Stunning Goal Against Roma
- Victor Osimhen netted perhaps what could be described as his best goal since joining Napoli
- The Nigerian international scored an incredible goal as the Partenopei defeated Roma 2-1
- Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti has hailed the 24-year-old, describing him as a complete package
The manager of Italian club Napoli, Luciano Spalletti, has referred to Nigerian international Victor Osimhen as ‘the complete package’.
Osimhen netted an incredible goal in Napoli’s 2-1 win over AS Roma in the Serie A as the Partenopei extend their lead on the standings to 13 points.
It is arguably the striker’s best goal since his move to Italy, having expertly controlled the ball with his chest, then thigh, before rifling a volley into the roof of the net.
Stephan El Shaarawy then equalised for Roma having been left unmarked at the back post, but Cholito Simeone came off the bench to grab the winner in the final minutes.

Spalletti told DAZN, as per Football Italia:
“You win these games if you prove that you are determined to win, from the kit staff to the last man on the bench.
“We didn’t have as much courage and quality as usual in moving the ball around tonight, so consequently that helped Roma with the high press. We also didn’t give Osimhen the right service, but he did well to find the spaces anyway.”
“There is everything in that goal, technical quality, character to juggle the ball between two defenders, then he hit this rocket into the net, as he really has got a cannon for a foot. He has physical strength, accepts the challenge, tracks back to help, he's good in the air. He is the complete package.”
Mourinho compares Osimhen with Didier Drogba
Sports Brief earlier reported that AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho has sent a strong message to Nigerian international Victor Osimhen amidst interest from English Premier League clubs.
Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Newcastle United are among the English clubs linked with the 24-year-old Napoli striker.
Speaking after his side's loss to the Partenopei at the Stadio Maradona, Mourinho compared the Nigerian international to Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.
