Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen is gradually becoming a cult hero in Naples, as fans in Italy continue to show him love for his brilliance.

The 23-year-old scored 18 goals last season and has already notched five goals during this campaign, including a brilliant finish against AS Roma.

His goal versus Jose Mourinho’s side confirmed Napoli’s status at the top of the Serie A standings, after he overpowered Chris Smalling before firing a volley into the net.

After the game, a young fan who doubled as a steward on the night, raced to meet with the Super Eagles striker.

AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham met with Nigerian international Victor Osimhen, as they hosted Napoli in the Serie A on Sunday night.

Osimhen grabbed the game's only goal in the 80th minute, and Abraham admitted the home team were sad following the loss.

Shortly after the game though, both strikers, who are of Nigerian origin, had a chat outside the main bowl of the Stadio Olimpico.

Popular Nigerian sports journalist Oma Akatugba, who was also at the arena, said Abraham and Osimhen were pictured together as they interacted.

Sports Brief earlier reported that Italian football pundit Matteo Bonetti believes Victor Osimhen can score 25 goals for Napoli this season.
