Victor Osimhen’s efforts for Napoli have been praised by his fellow teammate at Napoli, Alex Meret who has credited the Nigerian striker for the rejuvenation of the Naples club.

Meret has been teammates with Osimhen for 2 seasons after the Super Eagles striker was bought from French club, Lille in the summer of 2020.

According to a report by Soccernet, the Italian goalkeeper has underlined Osimhen’s enormous potential and his need to keep improving.

“A great player, he still has to improve in some aspects.
“But he has enormous potential. He is giving us a lot, but he can help us even more because he has unique and impressive qualities.”

Osimhen has led the Partenopei’s charge for a third Seria A title with his goals as he has bagged 12 goals for Luciano Spaletti’s men despite playing only 22 games in the league.

Napoli last won the Scudetto in 1990 and has struggled to mount a serious title challenge in recent years until the arrival of the Super Eagles striker.

Victor Osimhen 'flattered by Arsenal interest'

Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen is reportedly flattered by Arsenal’s interest in signing him as the English Premier League club tries to upgrade its striking options for next season.

According to Sports Mole, the 23-year however believes the Gunners will not be a right fit for him at the moment as he wants to continue playing in the Champions League.

Arsenal are hoping to convince the Nigerian to come to North London as they want a quality replacement for Alexander Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah whose contracts expire at the end of the present campaign.

Serie A defender makes bold statement about Victor Osimhen

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Victor Osimhen has been described as a striker who believes in his speed and ability by AC Milan defender, Pierre Kalulu.

The Milan center-back battled with the Super Eagles attacker in a fierce Serie A game earlier this season with the French defender coming up victor with a 1-0 win.

Kalulu who has made 31 appearances for the Rossoneri in the ongoing campaign admitted Victor Osimhen is the most difficult attacker he has faced in the Serie A.
