Franck Kessie returned home to join childhood friends in a community game on a grassless backyard pitch in Ivory Coast.

The Barcelona-bound player was seen wearing a popularly locally manufactured crocs as he enjoyed the game with friends.

In a video posted on social media, the AC Milan star put his stardom status aside as he featured in the massively patronized match.

Kessie, who was in Ghana last week for the Calcio Trade Ball, was named the best African player in the Serie A last season.

The Ivorian star will be leaving the Italian giants this summer as he joins Spanish outfit Barcelona.

Franck Kessie is regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, playing a pivotal role as AC Milan won the league for the first time in 11 years.

The 26-year-old made 31 appearances, scoring six goals for the Italian champions last season. He also helped them reach the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia.

Franck Kessie named best African football in the Serie A

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Cote d'Ivoire midfielder Franck Kessie has been voted the best African player in Serie A by the Calcio Ball Trade.

The award ceremony is an annual event organised in Ghana that celebrates the relationship between African and Italian football.

In the 2021/22 season in Italy's top flight, Kessie played 36 games and scored six goals.

Barcelona close to signing Ivorian midfielder Frank Kessie

Barcelona are closing on a Bosman deal for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.

Kessie comes off contract at Milan this summer and he has been free to negotiate pre-contract terms since January 1 with any foreign club.

And tribalfootball is reporting today that Kessie has already signed a pre-contract with Barcelona.
