Kylian Mbappe has been ranked the best footballer in the world as the 2025/26 club season enters its final weeks, with the Real Madrid forward’s numbers placing him clear of all competition. The Frenchman has registered 40 goals and 6 assists across 39 appearances this season, with his pace, finishing, and performances in high-stakes matches cited as the defining factors behind his top-rated status.

Harry Kane and Erling Haaland occupy second and third place respectively among the game’s elite strikers. Kane, playing for Bayern Munich, has recorded an extraordinary 50 goals and 6 assists in 42 appearances, cementing his standing as one of the most consistent strikers of his generation. Haaland, meanwhile, has contributed 33 goals and 7 assists in 45 appearances for Manchester City, with his output a significant factor in the club’s ongoing Premier League title challenge.

Barcelona teenager Lamine Yamal sits second on the list at just 18 years old, having produced 23 goals and 18 assists across 44 appearances. His decision-making, dribbling ability, and overall maturity have drawn widespread recognition, with the figures confirming his standing as one of football’s most promising young talents.

Michael Olise of Bayern Munich appears at number five, having delivered 12 goals and 20 assists in 43 appearances — a return that prompted teammate Harry Kane to describe him as the best winger in the world. The Frenchman’s creativity, direct style of play, and set-piece quality have each played a role in Bayern’s campaign this season.

Spanish midfielder Pedri rounds out the top six. Returning to full fitness has allowed the Barcelona player to reassert his influence, with his technical precision and reading of the game credited with helping lift the Catalan club back to prominence in La Liga. Pedri is also expected to be central to Spain’s preparations for the summer World Cup.

PSG midfielder Vitinha is placed seventh, having elevated his performances to a new standard with his passing range, game management, and contribution in front of goal. The Portuguese international is widely regarded as a key figure in Portugal’s hopes of winning their first FIFA World Cup this summer.

Vinicius Junior holds eighth position despite the heightened competition within Real Madrid’s attack following the arrival of Mbappe. The Brazilian has still accumulated 17 goals across all competitions, maintaining his status as one of the most dangerous wide attackers in the game.

Raphinha of Barcelona, despite dealing with injury disruptions, has scored 19 goals in all competitions and sits ninth. His importance to Barcelona was underscored during their two-legged UEFA Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid, with his absence in those matches felt acutely by the team.

Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United completes the top ten. The Portugal captain has recorded 8 goals and 17 assists in 29 Premier League appearances, a tally that puts him within reach of Kevin De Bruyne’s single-season assist record in the competition.

Notably absent from the ranking are Nigerian forwards Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, both of whom have featured prominently in African football discussions this season. The list carries additional context ahead of a summer that includes the FIFA World Cup, where several of the ranked players — including Mbappe, Kane, Yamal, Pedri, and Vitinha — are expected to be pivotal figures for their respective nations.
