Striker Ryan Moon is believed to be the next addition to the DStv Premiership next season.

The former Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC striker has reportedly been training with Maritzburg United for the last three weeks. The last time he had been heard from locally was when he departed the Maroons for Sweden in March 2021 to join Varbergs BoIS FC in the Allsvenskan, the country's top division.

According to iDiski Times, Moon has been offered a two-year deal with the option for more by the People's Team. This is despite the 25-year-old winning Varbergs' golden boot award last year after scoring seven times in 25 appearances, as Soccer Laduma reported.

The iDiski Times article revealed that he opted not to exercise the two-year option, leaving to explore other opportunities elsewhere. The KZN-based club is looking to bolster its attacking option to avoid being stuck in the relegation whirlpool again next season, and Moon is believed to be the answer to do so for the team coached by Ernst Middendorp.

Moon made 37 appearances for Stellies, scoring five times and assisting three more. He also made his senior debut in South Africa for Maritzburg in February 2016 before moving to the Amakhosi the following transfer window.

At Naturena, Moon featured 44 times, scoring seven goals and setting up one more.

Kaizer Chiefs silent on constant rumours linking Serbian striker Samir Nurković with Shauwn Mkhize’s Royal AM

Kaizer Chiefs are yet to comment on the constant rumours surrounding Samir Nurković.

As reported by Sports Brief, the Serbian striker made headlines last week when news broke that he had jumped ship to Royal AM. The rumour is that the striker, who is in the last month of his contract with the Soweto giants, had signed a lucrative deal with Shauwn Mkhize’s side.

His agent Dajan Simic and Royal AM CEO Sinky Mnisi rubbished the claims, however.
