  • Graeme Souness has insisted that Mohamed Salah does not come anywhere near Cristiano Ronaldo
  • The 29-year-old Liverpool star is the hottest attacker so far this season scoring 15 goals and five assists in 12 appearances
  • Souness admits that Ronaldo has been struggling for the past few games but his greatness cannot be underestimated

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has described Mohamed Salah as the best player at the moment but insisted that he does not come anywhere near Cristiano Ronaldo's greatness.

The Egyptian attacker has been tremendous for the Reds - scoring 15 goals and five assists in 12 appearances across competitions so far this campaign.

While Salah is having fun every matchday this season, Ronaldo and his Red Devils teammates are struggling with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men sitting seventh on the table at the moment.

What Souness said about Ronaldo and Salah

After their 5-0 humiliation last weekend, United now have 14 points from nine games and their 10th league outing is against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend. But Souness was quoted by Sports Keeda saying:

“You can’t compare the two, it’s not just about the last three months. There is an argument for Salah being the best player in the world in these three months of the season.
“Ronaldo has got an argument, Ronaldo could sit in any room with any player from any generation and say I’ve been the best player in the history of the game. And people would argue that point. For me he’s certainly up there.
“For [Salah], he’s had several good years at Liverpool, right now he is the best one around but Ronaldo is still on another level to what Salah is in his career, where he is at this stage.”

The Portuguese superstar has six goals in 10 appearances in all competitions for Man United this campaign but he could increase his tally this weekend.

Paul Parker 'attacks' Ronaldo after return to United

Legit.ng earlier reported that ex-England defender Paul Parker believes Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Manchester United may be doing more harm than good.

The 36-year-old re-joined the Red Devils on a two-year deal after forcing a move away from Juventus in August.

And he announced his second coming for United with a double against Newcastle United at Old Trafford in September.
