  • Arsene Wenger believes Man United still has a chance to contend for the Premier League title despite their 5-0 humiliation over the weekend
  • Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick as Liverpool conquered their bitter rivals in front of their home fans at Old Trafford
  • The former Arsenal handler insists that if Man City could win the silverware last season after their poor start, then United can do it also

Arsene Wenger claims all is not over for Manchester United yet unless they refuse to pick themselves up after their humiliating 5-0 defeat to Liverpool on October 24.

It was a Mohamed Salah show as the Egyptian found the back of the net three times while Naby Keita and Diogo Jota completed the routing.

The demoralizing loss saw the Red Devils drop to seventh on the log with 14 points, eight off league leaders Chelsea who have 22 after nine rounds of matches.

But, in spite of the unpleasant result at the weekend, Wenger believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his men can get campaign back on track before it becomes too late. He said on beIN SPORTS.

What Arsene Wenger said after the match

"You have to try to create hope. Manchester City won the title last year, they were 11 points behind at one stage and they were 10th in the league in December.
"So if they rectify it, they are still not out of it completely. Also, in the Champions League, they can still qualify. So their season is not dead but if they continue like that, it will be quickly."

The French-born tactician noted United can draw inspiration from Man City's turnaround last season for inspiration.

However, Wenger admitted Liverpool's defeat leaves Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in a precarious position and will have to do a lot more to turn around the tide.

Arsene Wenger identifies Ronaldo's problems

Legit.ng earlier reported that ex-Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has disclosed that 36-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo has upset the balance of Manchester United squad since his arrival, Metro reports.

The Portuguese sensation returned to the Old Trafford club on deadline day during the Summer Transfer Window for a fee of around £12million after three seasons with Juventus.

He has so far scored six goals in his first nine appearances upon re-joining the Red Devils, but United have been poor in recent times as it took a new height after they suffered a 5-0 loss to Liverpool.
