Manchester United are reportedly planning to keep their record signing Paul Pogba beyond the expiration of his contract.

The Frenchman's current deal with the Red Devils expires in the summer of 2022 with Real Madrid and Juventus top of his possible destinations.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old's return to United's starting line ups in the recent game has proven to be productive as the team has risen to be joint log leaders with Liverpool after the same number of games.

Metro UK quoting the Mirror claims Ole Gunnar Solskajer feels excited with Pogba's contributions and added that he has no doubt about his commitment to the club.

But, one major issue facing the Old Trafford outfit is the midfielder's refusal to sign a long-term extension and the club is considering selling him and recoup some of the £89 million they paid for him in 2016.

Bruno Fernandes who has enjoyed some tremendous partnership with Pogba on the pitch insisted that the midfielder's qualities cannot be downplayed. He said:

"I hope people are not in doubt on the qualities of Paul because we know he can play, he can help us and he can play really well. I think we are building something important. The most important for us is building a team, building a group of players who take care of each other."

Pogba has scored three goals in 20 appearances across competitions for Man United so far this campaign.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Paul Pogba was seen in footage instructing team-mate Luke Shaw to have attempted diving during Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Aston Villa.

This could land the midfielder in a big problem after he was seen encouraging cheating in the tough Premier League fixture.

The Red Devils went level on points with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table following their victory Old Trafford on New Year’s Day.
