  • New data has exposed Premier League teams that are heavily reliant on their top scorers
  • Manchester United would be in serious danger of missing out on European football without the goals of their talisman Marcus Rashford
  • Manchester City would however still be in second place, while Arsenal would still be top

The Premier League table without the services of each club’s top scorer makes for very interesting viewing.

This season, the English top flight has been stunned to the core by the brilliance of summer signing Erling Haaland, who has 28 league goals with 10 games to go.

His closest rival is Harry Kane, who has 21 goals, with Brentford’s Ivan Toney third with 16 goals while Rashford comes in fourth with 14 goals so far this season.

According to an interesting table prepared by buzzcasino.com, Manchester United would not be in third place on the log without goals from the England forward.

In fact, the Red Devils would be 10 points worse off without Rashford’s goals, in 7th place.

Tottenham Hotspur would also be in a similar predicament without their top scorer Harry Kane’s goals and would also drop four places.

There would be beneficiaries from United and Tottenham’s drop in the form of Newcastle and Brighton, who would be third and fourth respectively.

City are not too reliant on Haaland

In the same table, an interesting dynamic is that despite Haaland’s 28 goals for Manchester City, the Citizens would not be too badly off without his services.

Pep Guardiola’s side would still be in second place, just below, you guessed it, Arsenal.

The Gunners’ top scorer is Bukayo Saka, but without the talented winger’s exploits, the North Londoners still would be top of the table.
