United is 'playing La Liga'

On social media, Man United fans could not help but notice an interesting trend with the games they were facing in the Europa League.

Having come up against Real Sociedad in the group stage, United faced Barcelona in the round of 32, before knocking out Betis in the last 16 stage of the tournament.

Facing Sevilla will offer a chance for some revenge, as the Spanish side knocked them out in 2020 en route to winning the competition.

It will not be easy, however, as Sevilla have a history of performing extraordinarily well in the Europa League, regardless of their struggles in La Liga.

Here are some reactions from fans:

@UnitedScholes18 said:

“At this point, it seems like we are playing LaLiga on Thursday and premier league on the weekends."

@Thelost_blade noted:

“Difficult playing premier league and la liga at the same time."

@Goz_gram added:

"Playing in the premier league and La liga at the same time."
“We might as well win La Liga this season because we are playing the Premier league and La Liga at the same time.”
“Might as well just play against Spain in the upcoming international break."

Chelsea fans on Madrid draw

Elsewhere, Sports Brief reported on reactions from fans to Chelsea drawing Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final.

This is the second consecutive season the two have been drawn together and completes a trilogy, having met in 2020/21 and 2021/22.

However, a large section of Blues fans feel it is the end of the road as far as the team's Champions League campaign is concerned.
