Former world No 1 Ana Ivanovic recently delighted fans with a cheeky announcement that she was expecting a third child with former Manchester United star Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Ivanovic, who has been retired from tennis for a few years now, is certainly enjoying her marriage, which continues to yield beautiful children.

She announced her pregnancy with a hilarious caption on social media on Friday, February 10, writing:

Schweinsteiger retweeted the post to his followers to also give them a glimpse of the new addition to the family.

Schweinsteiger and Ivanovic’s romance

The couple has been together for a while now (since 2014 to be exact) and they tied the knot in 2016, when Schweinsteiger was a Manchester United player.

Prior to that, Schweinsteiger was in a relationship with model Sarah Brandner from 2007.

Ivanovic, a tennis legend

As far as her career is concerned, Ivanovic is considered a great in the sport of women’s tennis.

According to wtatennis.com, she won 15 single titles in her prime, with her most notable being the French open which she won in 2008 after beating Dinara Safina.

She is also a former world Number 1 and reigned supreme at the WTA rankings for 12 weeks.

In October 2022, she was nominated to be in the 2023 International Tennis Hall of Fame alongside some big names including Carlos Moya, Daniel Nestor, Flavia Pennetta, Lisa Raymond, Cara Black, and Juan Carlos Ferrero.

Part of her reason for hanging her racket in 2016 was consistent injuries.
