  • Schlupp has been all over social media following his nutmeg of Casemiro

Jeffrey Schlupp returned to Old Trafford to hunt Manchester United and one of their favourite players Casemiro during the English Premier League game against Crystal Palace.

The Ghana international had trials at Manchester United ten years ago and was rejected by the club as he tried to find a team as a youngster growing up in England.

Schlupp scored against the English giants in Palace's 2-1 defeat on Saturday at the Theater of Dreams.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Schlupp received praises from fans.

Meanwhile, the 30-year-old Ghanaian also played a role in Casemiro's red card in the match, after he bumped into Antony on the sidelines, leading to a melee.

Casemiro was sent off after a Video Assistant Referee check revealed the five-time UEFA Champions League winner had held the neck of Palace midfielder Will Hughes.

Schlupp was replaced late in the game by Jean Phillipe-Mateta.

Casemiro sees red in Crystal Palace win

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Manchester United endured a difficult end to their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace as they were forced to defend hard after going one man down in the 70th minute after Casemiro was shown a straight red card.

It was the first time the Brazilian was sent off straight in his career despite being a tough tackler. He grabbed the neck of Palace midfielder Will Hughes during a scuffle that broke out during the game.

United's defence of the situation was not that their midfielder should not have been sent off but other players should too which leaves them in a difficult position whether to appeal or not, as reported by Manchester Evening News.
