Even as this happens, it has now emerged that some players of the Manchester United squad are not happy with the idea of reintegrating the 21-year-old back into the fold.
The Sun reports that the players would welcome the English back but there are concerns that Greenwood's readmission could derail the squad that has made so much progress under Erik ten Hag this season.
Ten Hag's rebuild
The Dutch manager started his reign at Old Trafford on a rocky path with two back-to-back losses but has since transformed the Red Devils to become an outside contender for the Premier League title this season.
The squad is said to be in solid form and harmony under the former Ajax manager despite the issues with Cristiano Ronaldo.
