Man United fans convinced De Gea is leaving for Madrid after cryptic Twitter post

David de Gea has dropped a huge hint he could leave Manchester United this summer as he seeks wage parity elsewhere.

The Spanish goalkeeper's future at Old Trafford remains uncertain as he is yet to agree a new deal with the Red Devils.

United recently triggered the one-year extension clause in De Gea's current contact, meaning the Spaniard is tied down to the club until June 2020.

However, the Premier League outfit could explore the option of offloading the goalkeeper this summer to earn a transfer fee for him, with Real Madrid leading the chase for his services.

And a cryptic photo post on Twitter by the shot-stopper .hinted that the Bernabeu could be his next destination.

In the picture, De Gea can be seen hugging Real Madrid captain and fellow countryman Sergio Ramos, accompanying the tweet with the caption: "Did you miss me?"

The tweet elicited reactions from United fans who exuded conviction the 28-year-old was ready to call it quits at Old Trafford.

One asked: "Are you trying to tell us you are leaving?" Another concluded: "I don't feel comfortable seeing Ramos hugging De Gea."

The Spain international made 122 saves to United last season, ranking fourth overall.
