However, more than his goal at the death, it was Ronaldo's show of strength as he rose high to out-jump Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli that stole the headlines.

Argentine Paulo Dybala floated a powerful cross into the box from the left-wing, with Ronaldo managing a high jump with the hope of planting home a header.

So high he jumped that he beat Consigli to the ball even with the keeper's arms stretched out.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner's jumping skills left fans awed, with some taking to social media to hail the Portuguese.

One tweeted: "Ronaldo's most amazing skill - his equivalent of Messi's dribbling at speed - is his leap. It's phenomenal."
Another added: "Can't get over Cristiano Ronaldo's leap. Some serious airtime!"
While a third suggested: "Ronaldo's jump power needs to be studied."

Juventus went on to win 3-1 in the tie, with Danilo breaking the deadlock in the 50th minute.

However, the visitors restored parity eight minutes later through Gregoire Defrel before former Arsenal star, Aaron Ramsey, restored Juve's lead.

Ronaldo put the game to bed at the death as the Old Lady carted home all the three points to move third on the Serie A standings.
