Dutch striker Wout Weghorst is reportedly one step away from joining Manchester United on a short-term loan. United are on the market to look for Cristiano Ronaldo's replacement and the lanky forward is said to be close to sealing a move to Old Trafford.

Weghorst shared an emotional moment with Besiktas fans on January 7th at the Vodafone Park after their Super Lig match against Kasimpasa SK.

The United Zone believes that it was a farewell message as the Red Devils prepare to wrap up the move in the coming days. Weghorst is a Burnley player who was sent on loan to Besiktas after they were relegated from the Premier League.

With no proper options in the market at the market, ten Hag is seemingly keen to get a stop-gap short-term option to alleviate the burden on Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

Weghorst has scored eight goals in the Turkish League including one against Kasimpasa on Saturday.

He was part of the Dutch team that participated in the Qatar World Cup. Despite playing a part-time role, he starred in the quarter-finals when he scored two late goals to force the eventual champions Argentina to extra time and subsequent penalties.

Vincent Aboubakar on Manchester United's radar

Sports Brief had also reported that English Premier League club Manchester United have reportedly agreed to sign Vincent Aboubakar on loan from Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.

The Red Devils are desperately in search of another striker after terminating Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract at the end of last month.

Aboubakar, who scored one of the iconic goals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, has already spent 18 months with Al-Nassr, scoring 13 goals in 39 matches in all competitions. Manchester United were alerted by the player’s availability as Al-Nassr are also prepared to let him go on loan.
