Their impressive run now has them sitting just a point behind second-placed Man City, and level on points with third-placed Newcastle.

Ten Hag rates United's chances

Despite Man United's lofty position in the standings and the club's spectacular form, ten Hag has played down any suggestion his side are in the title race.

According to the Dutchman, his club are still a work in progress but was quick to admit 'the belief is growing.'

"That’s a big step! No, we have to go from game to game and get the progress," ten Hag responded to a question on if Man United was a title contender, as quoted by Metro UK.

The former Ajax manager said the team understands the importance of giving 100 percent in every game, in energy, focus and unified play.

"And if we keep in that philosophy, then much is possible, but we have to go from game to game and don’t think too much ahead," he added.

Redknapp makes top 4 prediction

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Jamie Redknapp does not see Tottenham or Chelsea earning a place in the top four at the end of the season.

The Blues, Liverpool and Spurs recently suffered respective blows in their top-four bid as they dropped points.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool and Newcastle are all still eyeing a Champions League spot.
