“My information is that it will only be good things, because there will be more investment possible, which is good," he commented.

He insisted the club needs the right players to be able to compete in the Premier League.

"It’s clear that when you don’t have the right players and quality players, you will not be successful and achieve the targets you set. The competition is really tough, so you need the right players."

The club spent €240.32 million in the summer with six new faces arriving, including marquee signing Antony, who cost the club €95 million, per Transfermarkt.
