The new deal, which was sealed during the Premier League break after the commencement of the 2022 World Cup, will see him stretch his supremely successful tenure with the Citizens to 2025.

Pep's terms were due to expire at the end of the ongoing season, and he had remained tight-lipped on what the future held for him with the reigning English champions.

The former Barcelona boss is expected to get a raise on his reported £20m-a-year salary in the fresh terms agreed with City.

The 51-year-old has spent close to six years with the club, having joined them back in 2016 after ending his three-year stint with Bayern Munich.

He has gone on to win an impressive four Premier League titles, one FA Cup and four League Cups during his spell in the English top flight.

Guardiola's funny celebration

Sports Brief earlier reported on Guardiola's hilarious celebration, after Erling Haaland scored a late winner versus Fulham on November 5.

Guardiola was spotted celebrating as he looked down at the camera and passionately shook his fist.

Pep is known for his hot and cold celebrations when a goal goes in, but couldn't help it when Haaland sunk the penalty.
