Ronaldo and Fernades were captured in viral footage awkwardly greeting each other after his teammate's interview last Monday, 14th November.

Fans were particularly enraged at the 37-year-old's criticism of manager Erik ten Hag. Many United fans called for him to leave the club, while some agreed with him on the Glazers running of the club.

Ronaldo addresses Fernandes handshake

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner said the handshake was blown out of proportion, and people were trying to create a narrative that the two players were at loggerheads following the tell-all interview.

Several Portugal players confirmed that nothing was going on during the handshake, according to the Sun.

"In these final stages, there is always controversy. This one with Bruno Fernandes was another one that went wrong for you. You fail a lot. I made a joke with Bruno because my relationship with him is excellent. "He arrived late because his plane was delayed and I asked him if he had come by boat. It was a prank and they made it into a storm."

He said his relationship with Fernandes is great and the moment was just an inside joke, same with the 'fight' with Joao Cancelo.

"It was the same with Joao Cancelo in training the other day. He was a little upset after a harsh challenge by Felix, I grabbed him by the neck, pulled him up and said ‘let’s go man."

Ronaldo and Cancelo quarrel

Sports Brief earlier reported on Ronaldo and Cancelo's altercation in Portugal's training session.

The incident has had a lot of interpretations, with the two appearing to argue during a training session.

However, another video shows that Cancelo was angry about a separate incident before his encounter with Ronaldo
