Cristiano Ronaldo has finally revealed what he thinks of his long-time arch-nemesis, Lionel Messi.

The two players have dominated headlines for the last 16 years, winning every available trophy to them except the World Cup.

They are arguably the greatest players to ever play football and their fans are often involved in divisive debates on who's better.

Messi has won seven Ballon d'Or compared to Ronaldo's five, but Ronaldo has the edge of gracing different leagues and shining in different competitions. He has been at Manchester United twice, at Real Madrid and Juventus.

Messi, meanwhile, has spent the bulk of his career in Barcelona and after a first difficult year at Paris Saint-Germain, he is finally rediscovering his form this season.

Speaking during his much-publicized interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo had nothing but kind words for Messi.

"He is an amazing player. Magic. Top. As a person, we have shared the stage for 16 years. Imagine 16 years. So, I have a great relationship with him."

The Portuguese captain was then quizzed on whether he would love to have dinner with Messi and he answered, "why not?" He, however, admitted they are not friends.

The two are currently focused on Qatar as they look to win the elusive trophy in their last World Cups.

Ronaldo boasts about beating Messi's record

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Part one of Cristiano Ronaldo's interview with controversial journalist Piers Morgan dropped on Wednesday night, November 16, and the Manchester United star touched on more topics.

He expressed his delight in beating Lionel Messi's shirt sales after joining Manchester United last summer.

When the club announced the sensational return of their former star, fans could not contain their excitement.It showed through the record number of jersey sales in a 24-hour period. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner broke the record for most shirt sales just days after it was reported he would prefer the No. 7 jersey.
