  • A Former Manchester United player has said that Jadon Sancho may go down as the worst-ever signing in the club's history
  • Sancho started the season decently for the Red Devils, but his form has deteriorated in recent weeks
  • The 22-year-old was also snubbed from the final England squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar

Jadon Sancho has been heavily criticised by former Manchester United player Paul Parker, who said the winger could end up being the worst signing by the club.

Sancho joined Man United in July 2021 and has yet to hit the ground running, almost halfway into his second season at the club.

Sancho arrived with much fanfare last year, but has failed to live up to his heft €73-million fee Man Utd paid Borussia Dortmund for his signature.

The 22-year-old has failed to replicate his excellent form for Dortmund, forcing England boss Gareth Southgate to leave him out of the 2022 World Cup squad.

Parker criticises signing of Sancho

Former United player Parker has said Sancho could end up being the club's worst-ever signing, adding he didn't understand why he was signed in the first place.

"To be honest, I’ve never really understood why Man Utd paid so much money for Jadon Sancho. If you look at the money the club paid for him, I would say he could end up being the worst buy in Manchester United’s history," he said according to the Sun.

Nevertheless, the former Manchester City youngster started the season impressively, scoring against Liverpool and Leicester City while also netting one in the Europa League.

His club manager, Erik ten Hag has supported the young winger, who has been ill over the last few weeks.

"He had some really good performances and I think he was heading in a good direction," ten Hag commented.

RyanAir trolls Jadon Sancho

Sports Brief earlier reported on Sancho getting trolled by Irish airline RyanAir, after he was snubbed for the 2022 England squad for the upcoming World Cup.

Sancho was among the high-profile names who missed out on England's final list for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Sancho found himself omitted from the final squad alongside the likes of Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham.
