Usain Bolt believes Cristiano Ronaldo merits the 'greatest player of all time' status than his bitter rival Lionel Messi.

Both players have dominated world football with their incredible performances for over one and a half decades and also virtually all the individual awards available to win.

Although both of them are already slowing down owing to their ages, they are still turning out double-figure goals and assists across competitions.

Meanwhile, due to their style of play, achievements, and choices, the debate of who is better between the two doesn't seem like it will go away anytime soon.

The eight-time Olympic gold medallist has now weighed in on the matter saying he prefers Ronaldo ahead of the Barcelona legend due to the fact that the 35-year-old played for United.

Bolt was quoted by Daily Mail while granting Gazetta dello Sport an interview recently. He said:

"It is difficult for me to choose because I support Argentina, but I am a big fan of Cristiano Ronaldo. I admire Ronaldo since he played for Manchester United and I support the Red Devils.
"I think he has something more than Messi because he has proven himself in many leagues. That's why I choose Ronaldo."

The publication reveals that the Portugal international has won 28 domestic trophies across three countries while Messi has picked up 34 pieces of silverware with Barca.

Bolt was crowned the fastest man in the world when he broke the 100m sprint record with a time of 9.58 seconds at the Berlin World Championships claimed last year that 'super athlete' Ronaldo would easily beat him in a race.

During his time at Real Madrid, Ronaldo once ran 96 metres in 10 seconds while his official FIFA speed is 21mph. earlier reported that Paris Saint-Germain goal-poacher Kylian Mbappe has stated that although he has played against superstars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, he tells himself he is the best.

Messi and Ronaldo are arguably the best players of their generation having dominated the football space for more than a decade, winning everything possible.

Both legends split a staggering 11 Ballon d’Or titles between themselves with the Argentine winning it six times, while his Portuguese counterpart has won five.
