  • Erik ten Hag has expressed his desire to see Alejandro Garnacho left out of Argentina's final squad to Qatar
  • Garnacho's recent impressive form might convince Argentina Head Coach Lionel Scaloni to include him in his travelling party
  • Ten Hag is of a different opinion though as he wants the starlet to keep developing further before being thrust onto big stages

Manchester United Head Coach, Erik ten Hag has appeared to call for Alejandro Garnacho not to be included in Argentina's final World Cup squad.

Garnacho has impressed of late, with his latest cameo off the bench resulting in two assists, as United secured progression to the next round of the Carabao Cup at the expense of Aston Villa.

The winger will be waiting to know if he will be part of Lionel Scaloni's side in Qatar. He had been included in the original 55-man squad, which is expected to be whittled down to at least 23 players.

He is not expected to be part of the squad given the abundance of talent Argentina has, and ten Hag has echoed the decision to leave him out, as Metro UK reports.

"The other thing is it’s a big step to go to a World Cup, where the best players in the world come together; it’s a big step. I don’t know if that’s the right step for him. I think he has to keep his head clean, stay calm, work hard and develop, and go from game to game."

Giovani Lo Celso's injury might open up a chance for the Manchester United teenager.

Ten Hag warns Alejandro Garnacho

Sports Brief has also reported that Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has warned youngster Alejandro Garnacho that he needs to check his attitude and lifestyle, if he is to become a regular starter at the club.

Garnacho was the star of the show on Thursday, November 10, with his second-half cameo that helped the Red Devils beat Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup third round.

The youngster was brought in with United trailing 2-1 and proved instrumental, with assists to Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay to help turn the game around.
