Super Eagles legend Yakubu Aiyegbeni has been overtaken by Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah in the Premier League goal-scoring charts following his goal against Manchester United on Thursday night, May 13.

Jurgen Klopp and his men were in their best form at Old Trafford beating Manchester United 4-2 to keep their hopes of making the top in the Premier League alive.

Liverpool's win at Old Trafford against Manchester United took them to fifth position on the Premier League table with 60 points and they are behind Chelsea on fourth with 64 points and have three more games to end the term.

Mohamed Salah netted the 4th goal for Liverpool in the 90th minute after getting an assist from Curtis Jones and the Egypt international is now having 96 goals in the Premier League after 155 games.

During Yakubu Aiyegbeni's days in the Premier League, the Nigerian scored 95 goals in 252 games which was an incredible achievement.

Salah is now the third-highest scoring African player in the Premier League behind Togo's Emmanuel Adebayor (97 goals) and Ivory Coast's Didier Drogba (104 goals).

During his active playing time at Chelsea, Didier Drogba was known as one of the best strikers in the world considering all the superb goals he scored for the Blues.

Drogba has hanged his football boots and he is aspiring to become head of the Ivory Coast Football Association.

Africa's top scorer in the Premier League Didier Drogba recently attracted thousands of school children when he led FIFA president Gianni Infantino to the opening of the Pan-African inter-school soccer tournament.

The tournament was launched as an arena to improve football infrastructure on the African continent. The inter-school tournament in Pan-Africa also aims to shape the future of young people across Africa.

The former Chelsea star had a successful career in Europe playing for the English Premier League side Chelsea as well as French Ligue 1 side Marseille.

He also had a stint with the Turkish outfit Galatasaray before he retired.
