United got one back just before halftime but were undone by another counter-attack as Jacob Ramsey rifled in the third early in the second half. United's attempt to mount a comeback was unsuccessful.

Fans angry with Ronaldo

Ronaldo had one good chance in the first half but the rest of his performance wasn't as great as the fans would've liked. Many fans faulted Ronaldo for not adding any value to the team.

Others asked the club to move on from him.

"Can't remember the last time I saw Ronaldo actually play well. Time to move on."

Some compared Ronaldo with Messi, saying the Portuguese gets away with many poor performances.

"Imagine the slander by Media if Messi was playing at Ronaldo’s level but now they are either hyping celebration and staying completely silent on performance."

Another questioned the decision to start Ronaldo and making him captain.

"Man United have their best attackers out injured but if you're going to be starting Cristiano Ronaldo as your starting striker in a 2022 Premier League game (and making him captain, lol) then you deserve everything you get."

Others trolled Ronaldo's style of play.

"The only thing Ronaldo was seen doing against Aston Villa was countless runs into Villa’s box, waiting to receive crosses. EVERYBODY saw it, so, I'm not lying. How do people actually enjoy watching this guy?"

Others declared that they were tired of watching him miss chances.

"I’m so bored of Ronaldo missing chances."

Many fans added that the striker brings no value to the team at the moment.

"Ronaldo has been part of all of Man United's heavy defeats since his return to the club, contributing absolutely NOTHING in all those matches."
"This thing about having to pass to Ronaldo is one of the biggest hindrances I’ve ever known."

Man City youngster does Ronaldo celebration

Sports Brief earlier reported on Manchester City youngster doing the new Ronaldo celebration.

The City rising star Carlos Borges came up with the coldest moment of the weekend, adopting the now-famous Ronaldo celebration.

The young star scored a hat trick against Manchester United under-21s in a 6-1 win.
