The Red Devils were far from their best during the encounter, with City staging a masterclass to condemn them to a 6-3 embarrassing defeat.

The Citizens needed just 45 minutes of the first half to score four past Ten Hag's men, with both Erling Haaland and Phil Foden netting a double at the interval.

However, Keane contends it was a sign of disrespect from Ten Hag not to involve Ronaldo in the clash, who was was one of only four unused substitutes.

According to the former Man united skipper, it was wrong for the Red Devils' boss to overlook 'one of the greatest players ever.'

"I think Man United are showing disrespect to Ronaldo. I think he should have been let go before the [closing] of the window," Keane told Sky Sports via the Daily Mail.
'Okay, you're the manager, you need options but you don't hold onto Ronaldo to sit on the bench. He's one of the greatest players ever," he added.
