  • A Manchester United fan was given a taste of his own medicine after he was reminded that his club was not participating in this season's Champions League
  • RB Salzburg's admin did not hold back on the fan who could not understand why the club was happy about a point away to Chelsea
  • Salzburg will be pushing for a round of 16 slot after picking up two points from the group's strongest teams

RB Salzburg's Twitter admin fired shots at a Manchester United fan who attempted to downplay the club's hard-earned point against Chelsea.

The Austrian champions held Chelsea to a one-all draw away at Stamford Bridge to pick up their second successive point of the campaign.

It was Graham Potter's first game in charge of Chelsea after replacing Thomas Tuchel less than a week ago.

The Blues were looking to pick their first victory after falling to a shock 1-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb. Raheem Sterling thought he had put his side on their way only for Noah Okafor to peg them back with 15 minutes remaining.

The admin replied to a message from the Champions League account fully contented with the point away to a club of Chelsea's pedigree.

The United fan with the user name sotrickyutd commented

It's a draw

To which the admin replied

Where is your team's UCL point bro?

It was a low dig to Manchester United who have to contend with playing in Europe's second fiddle competition, the Europa League.

The Red Devils endured a difficult campaign last season that saw them record their lowest-ever tally in the Premier League. They will be hoping to match to Europa League success this term under Erik ten Hag.

How Chelsea's game against RB Salzburg panned out

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Graham Potter’s first game in charge of Chelsea manager ended in a 1-1 draw against Salzburg as the Blues suffered another setback in their quest to qualify for the knockout stages.

Potter made an interesting decision in his first game, choosing to start Raheem Sterling as an advanced wingback.

His gamble however paid off as Sterling continued his purple patch in Chelsea colors as he curled in the opener after 48 minutes.
