Former Manchester United defender, Patrice Evra, has shared his dream of seeing an African country win the World Cup after meeting Ghana President, Nana Akufo-Addo.

The ex-France defender met Ghana's President on Wednesday, September 14 as part of his tour of the West African nation.

At the meeting with the President, Evra disclosed that he wants the youth of Africa to believe that they can make it on the continent.

"My dream is to change the image of Africa, that is why I have been to Senegal, Cameroon and Nigeria and I really through my social media wants this generation to know they can be successful in their own country," he told the President.

"I was in Dakar but I played for France, when you are young, my parents gave me the chance to pick my national team but growing up in France, I chose France. But I understood later to chose my own country because it became political. When you win you are French and when you lose you are Senegalese," he added.
"There is so much talent, big creativity and Africa is a rich continent that is why I am not only hear with Chippa, I am also here to meet my brothers.
"My dream is that one African country team, maybe one day will win the World Cup."

Patrice Evra represented France at international level despite being born in Senegal. He was part of the team at the 2010 World Cup.

Patrice Evra eager to taste Ghana jollof

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has revealed his desire to taste a popular West African dish, jollof, following his arrival in Ghana.

The France and Manchester United legend was given a rapturous welcome at the Kotoko International Airport as he touched down for his tour of Africa.

In a video posted on social media, Evra who was stunned by the reception, admitted he is ready to taste Ghanaian jollof.
