  • United picked up their first win of the season after an impressive performance against Liverpool
  • The Red Devils were however given a scare after Mohammed Salah halved the deficit in the 81st minute
  • Immediately after Salah’s goal, Bruno Fernandes grabbed the ball in a perceived time, wasting technique

There was an interesting moment during the Manchester United clash against Liverpool on Monday, August 22 as Bruno Fernandes was involved in a minor clash with Mohammed Salah over time wasting.

United claimed their first win of the campaign at the expense of Liverpool, who are yet to win a game in their opening three outings.

Jadon Sancho put United in the lead with a brilliant solo effort as he sat down both James Milner and Alisson Becker to score.

Marcus Rashford then made it 2-0 after finishing neatly from a through ball.

The two goals typically rose the mood at Old Trafford, but Liverpool, who have developed a knack of coming up with late comebacks, almost ruined celebrations when Salah’s forceful header made the scores 2-1 with nine minutes to go.

In the seconds that followed Salah’s goal, the Egyptian tried to get the ball for the game to restart quickly, but Bruno Fernandes had other ideas.

The Portuguese talent was the first to the ball after Salah’s goal and he tried his best to keep it off his rival in clear time-wasting antics.

Liverpool players were left fuming, and understandably so, and Fernandes was lucky to have walked away from the incident without a booking.

Jurgen Klopp was also not pleased with Fernandes and he seemed to make his feelings clear at full time.
