Sarah Kelly, the mother of a teenage football fan whose phone was smashed by Cristiano Ronaldo, has described the Manchester United superstar as the 'most arrogant man' she has ever spoken to.

Footage emerged in which Ronaldo appeared to hit a phone out of the hand of a spectator, Jacob Harding, following Manchester United’s loss to Everton last season.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner would apologise for his outburst. He has since been interviewed by the police in relation to the alleged assault and criminal damage - which he received a caution.

"He asked me if I would like to come down and meet his family,' she told The Mirror. He said, "I'm not a bad dad". I said to him, 'I never said you were a bad dad'.
"He said, 'I had a terrible upbringing, I lost my dad'. I said to him, 'Everybody has a sob story, Ronaldo, I lost my dad young, I've had cancer'.
"He kept calling me Jack and didn't even know my name and I said, "My name is Sarah" and he said, 'Oh, Sarah, I'm sorry'.
"He never referred to Jacob by his name either, it was always 'the boy'. 'I know the boy's got problems', he said. I told him, 'He hasn't got a problem, he has a disability, you're the one with the problem.

Police caution Cristiano Ronaldo after smashing fan's phone

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Cristiano Ronaldo has been cautioned by British police after footage emerged of the Manchester United forward appearing to smash a phone out of an Everton fan's hand at a match last season.

The 37-year-old was interviewed by officers in relation to an allegation of assault and criminal damage following the incident at Goodison Park on April 9.

Merseyside Police launched an investigation after a clip was circulated online of Ronaldo appearing to knock the supporter's mobile phone onto the ground as he limped towards the tunnel following United's 1-0 loss.
