Manchester United eye move for Premier League forward to solve club's striking problems

Head coach Erik ten Hag took the reigns over interim coach Ralf Rangnick with expectations rife that he will oversee a mini-squad overhaul. However, the club is yet to fully address its needs despite three players arriving.

Many will argue that Lisandro Martinez's buy was unnecessary, considering that the club already had at least four centre-backs. Same to Cristian Eriksen's arrival, who more or less plays a similar role to Fernandes'. The other arrival has seen fullback Tyrell Malacia compete for space with Luke Shaw.

The arrivals this summer will definitely add to the squad depth, but the starting XI appears weak. The Daily Express reports that Ronaldo, Fernandes, Rashford, Maguire and Shaw have asked the club to step up their efforts before the closure of the transfer window.
